Since its establishment, Ortec Finance has put innovation through applied scientific research and IT developments on the forefront. Our research and innovation activities are concentrated within the Ortec Finance R&D Labs.
We work and experiment with both new modelling approaches and IT techniques and concepts in order to research their applicability to investment decision making. Our researchers hold master or PhD degrees in economics, computer science, finance, econometrics or mathematics and are affiliated with the scientific research community. R&D Labs aims to be the linking pin between Ortec Finance and the scientific research community. It performs innovative, high-quality research with a strong practical focus. We collaborate with students, academics and external parties to design the future of investment decision making.

The objectives of R&D Labs are to:
- Use scientific developments and perform research to improve the quality of Ortec Finance’ solutions and products;
- Put theory into practice by prototyping state-of-the-art technologies in the investment decision making domain with leading industry partners;
- Support knowledge sharing between Ortec Finance, our (potential) customers, and the scientific research community so that our models and eventually our clients’ investment decisions can be further improved
- Show thought leadership in our markets
