As a Climate Risk Consultant within the Climate & ESG Solutions team, Tijmen advises a wide range of financial institutions on integrating climate strategy within their investment decision-making processes. Using research-based insights from Ortec Finance’s climate scenario analysis solution, he guides clients on how to measure, manage, and monitor their investment portfolio’s climate risk exposure by evaluating worldwide economic, asset class, and sector impacts under different futures.
Tijmen joined Ortec Finance in 2022, following the completion of his thesis ‘Climate Risk: Have Equity Markets Priced Paris-Aligned Transition Risks?’ He is currently based in Toronto, where he is primarily responsible for supporting the climate risk management needs of Ortec Finance’s growing client base in North America, and various ‘Maple 8’ pension funds in Canada.
Tijmen holds a Master of Science, majoring in Corporate Finance from the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam.
