Ortec Finance, a leading global provider of technology and solutions for risk and return management for financial institutions, is delighted to announce the extension of its exclusive long term strategic partnership with Cambridge Econometrics as part of its ClimateMAPS climate scenario analysis offering.

Cambridge Econometrics

The partnership, established in 2019, provides Ortec Finance with exclusive access to Cambridge Econometrics' globally recognized E3ME macro-econometric non-equilibrium model, a key component within its proprietary climate scenario modeling. This enables Ortec Finance’s suite of in-house climate scenarios to incorporate a comprehensive range of climate-related transition risk drivers, including low-carbon regulatory and fiscal policies, emissions and corresponding energy demands, and technology uptake at country and sector levels.

In combination with Ortec Finance’s proprietary stochastic financial model and extreme weather (acute physical risk) modeling tool, Ortec Finance is able to realistically assess the financial impacts of climate change and quantify these impacts across a wide range of economic variables and asset classes, geographies and sectors.

Ton van Welie, CEO of Ortec Finance, commented: “We are delighted to be continuing our strong partnership with Cambridge Econometrics so we can help the investment community identify and understand the impact of climate change on investments, one of the most challenging and complex risk factors in the current investment landscape. In line with the recent release of our integrated economic and climate scenarios, we are committed to ensuring our institutional investor clients have ongoing access to one of the most comprehensive risk management tools available on the market.”

Phil Summerton, CEO of Cambridge Econometrics added: “Our partnership with Ortec Finance has gone from strength to strength over the past five years, and has seen us achieve a number of key milestones together including the launch of an additional Delayed Net-Zero scenario in Ortec Finance’s 2024 update and the development of two bespoke scenarios for GIC. We are thrilled to extend our collaboration and look forward continuing our partnership into the long term future.
